There are a lot of great places to live in Montana and aside from the ADT and changing your mailing address you need to consider where you’ll actually live! Here are three of our favorite MT cities we think you should consider
Bozeman – There’s nothing missing from Bozemanit’s got culture and heritage and the downtown area is walkable and cute. If you love clean, easy urban living with a slice of mountain views on the side, Bozeman’s it.
Missoula – If you’re looking for a friendly college town with the charm of a much bigger city, look twice at Missoula. The scenery is unbeatable and the cost of living is relatively low since there is such a young population here.
Billings – Billings is a bit of an older city but it’s currently undergoing an urban revitalization. There are a ton of job opportunities here and it’s the gateway to Glacier National Park which is one of Montana’s best assets. If you’ve written Billings off in the past, it’s time you looked again.

Montana is a state-of-mind to many people who live there. The Big Sky Country state offers many opportunities for families, retirees, and even single people. Montana is a state of vast open spaces and an immense diversity of communities.

Montana has a few large cities, but it is more noted for its small town and rural feel. The people of Montana are hardy, honest, and they are hard-working. Montana’s working people consistently rank near or at the top of ratings for performance and capabilities. However, in Montana, professional positions pay less. This is often referred to as the “Wilderness Tax.” People choose Montana for the outdoors, the atmosphere, and the opportunities to lead a peaceful life. Montana is not a state to live in if a high paying career is desired.

Montana has another claim to fame. The state can be proud of having a far better crime rate than most of the United States. Currently, Montana is ranked at number 45. This means that there are only five slightly better states to live in if a person is worried about becoming a victim of violent crime.

Montana has breathtaking views, rugged terrain and of course “Big Skies.” It also has opportunities for every type of American interested in making the move. The people and the land will welcome anyone who is willing to put the hustle of big city life behind.

Do you need a change? A new place to live? Montana may just be the ticket. Montana is known as ‘Big Sky Country’. That it is, the sky seems endless, it has some of the beautiful sunsets in the country, full of majestic colors. The air quality in Montana has the highest quality and lowest pollution in the United States. It has endless recreational oppotunities. From horseback riding, to tennis, endless, uninterrupted running, cycling and hiking paths, throughout the state, as well as skiing in the winter.This/tag helps explain it more. People visit Yellowstone National Park from all over the world, it’s a truly enchanting place. As far as traffic and congestion issues in Montana, they are virtually non existent. If you are a person that needs a bit of city life, you can chose to live in a more populated city, like Billings, and still not have to deal with the type of urban chaos that is normal in other urban cities. The schools in Montana, are some of the best in the nation, and again does not deal with a lot of issues that other states and cities do, like over crowded classrooms, and school violence. People tend encounter, a slower type of lifestyle there.

More people are getting away from the hustle and bustle of the city and opting for a quieter place. There is no better place than Montana to raise a family. Property values are great and it is the kind of place where you know your neighbors. Montana is a place where you can sit on your porch drinking coffee and admiring the deer and antelope playing in your front yard. It is the place where some do not lock your doors at night, because here there is respect for everyone else and their property. Life is different here, a slower pace.

The scenery in this area is breathtaking. You have miles of gorgeous mountains or can have completely flat land. There are plenty of jobs available in the high tech industry in the larger towns like Helena. Since agriculture is one of the main venues of business here, farm hands jobs are usually available. The winters are cold, but the snow is beautiful. There are plenty of churches for those who are religious and plenty of farm fresh vegetable for those who live off the land. It is one of the greatest kept secrets of the 50 states. While Montana may not get as much attention as some of the other states, sometimes peace and quiet is just what one needs.

Are you too hot living in your current area? Maybe you should move to Montana. The temperatures in Montana throughout the year are typically below a hundred degrees Fahrenheit. The temperatures are probably cooler then where you are living now. While it’s not freezing temperatures, the climate is fairly cool. Average temperatures year round are below sixty, with highs as high as in the nineties, and extreme lows below zero. The greatest amount of rainfall for Montana is between May and July. So if you are looking for a cooler place to live, you should consider Montana. Since the temperatures are on average fifty to sixty degrees the type of livestock and crops are going to be different as well. The types of stock raised in Montana are sheep and cattle; and some of the crops are potatoes, barley and oats. This provides you with a nice change of scenery. Montana is the perfect place to live if you can’t stand extreme heat, get hot easily, or just don’t like being in hot areas. It provides a fair atmosphere with beautiful scenery. If you are too hot and are looking for a cooler change in temperature, then you should pick up and move to the beautiful state of Montana!

Nature’s grandeur is never far in Big Sky Country. Even in the city, majestic mountains or scenic badlands are within reach. A move to Montana is a move to adventure.

The Continental Divide runs through the Rockies to the west. To the east are rolling prairies. Trout splash in pristine rivers. The wind carries the rustle and scent of pine, cedar, and cottonwood trees. Asters, daisies, lilies and orchids scatter color on the landscape. Spectacular buttes rise, waterfalls cascade, and the noise and bustle of modern life fade away in Montana’s ten National Forests and score of National Wildlife Refuges.

The Montana climate is as varied as the landscape, offering mild summers and winters in many areas, and the cold and snow that produce the marvels of Glacier National Park.

Montana offers more than breathtaking beauty. Its cities offer economic opportunity. While the rest of the nation has suffered from a recession, the economy of Montana’s largest city has flourished. Fortune Small Business magazine named Billings as the best small city in which to start a business in 2009. Billings also offers a symphony orchestra, an opera company, and museums and theaters.

Modern comforts and wild beauty make Montana a great place to call home.

When you go to visit Montana, you will want to go anywhere from May through September. Once you have done this to see the amazing warm and beautiful weather that Montana has to offer, you will want at least a vacation home if not a year round home in Montana. Typically, June is the rainiest month in the state, but June, July, and August temperatures tend to be in the upper 70′s to mid to upper 80′s. If you are the type who likes having the best of all worlds right at your fingertips, then Montana is the place for you because once you are done with the hot warm Summers, you will quickly drop down into temperatures in the 30′s down to below zero. This is great, because you can swim, boat, and hike during the summer months, and the warm weather, and go snow shoeing, cross-country skiing or downhill skiing in the winter months. No matter what time of year it is, Montana always has something beautiful to offer to its many residents, full and part-time, as well as the tourist just passing through or coming for a short stay on vacation. Montana is really Heaven on Earth.

If you are yearning for the four seasons of weather in all its beauty, then Montana is one of the best states you can choose. With enough open land for everyone to have a small bit of acreage or live in one of several large or small cities more to your taste, you will find a home. Beginning with summer, Montana has mild weather with lots of sun. It can get hot, but not for days at a time. With all the summer outdoor activities you will wish for warm weather so you can enjoy it all. Next comes the beautiful, crisp days of fall. There are an abundant of trees in this state and you will find all the fall colors everywhere.

With winter comes the beauty of a true snowfall. You can get gentle flakes from the sky or a good old fashioned blizzard. This is when you can cuddle in front of the fire and be comfortable. It will become your best winter friend and memory. Next is the renewal of spring time. You will be ready for sun light and green by the time winter has provided you with enough snow for one season. Spring is the crazy season of fun. It begins to warm and the snow melts away to new life. But beware of the spring snow storm so you can enjoy a little more fire place romance with the one you love.
